History Exam ; 1hr 30min
There were 14 MCQs , 4 SBQs (2 inferential & two comparison) , 3 SEQs (choose 2 out of 3).
I quickly do finish the MCQs first, though there were some questions I don't know. Then, I quickly went to do SEQs, in case I forgot about what I've studied and wrote down some points.
The first question was Chapter 3; about the immigrants in the early 1800.
The second question was Chapter 5; about the external events that affected Singapore; Industrial Revolution, Suez Canal, World War 1 & Great Depression.
The third question was Chapter 9; about why Singapore merged with Malaya and the separation of Singapore and Malaysia.
Of course I would choose the second and third as Mr Yeo didn't teach us Chapter 3 at all because of the PBL Project.
For the first part of the second question, it asked about how the British Government reacted when there was Great Depression. I was like ... I can only remember one point!
For the second part, it asked about how World War 1 affected Singapore. I just roughly wrote down three points.
For the last part, it asked if the opening of Suez Canal was the most important external event that brought about trade and prosperity to Singapore. I really don't know how to disagree so I wrote about the Industrial Revolution.
For the first part of the third question, it asked about why Malaya wanted to merge with Singapore. Phew, I remembered all the points.
For the second part, it asked about why Singapore wanted to merge with Malaya. I remembered all the points too.
For the last part, it asked if the reason why Singapore leave Malaysia was due to economic reason. I wrote alot for the disagree part so naturally, in my conclusion, I disagree.
For SBQs, all my answers were like 2 lines, no hopes at doing well for SBQs...
