Chapter 1: A New Start
She heaved a sigh as she slowly strolled through the familiar park, hoping that the journey to school would be longer. It had been two years since she first came to this school. Examinations, holiday arrived and gone in a twinkling of an eye. The first day of school clearly indicates that she is now a secondary three student and it means no more slacking, no more not doing homework and most important, she really need to reduce the amount of time she spends on the computer. This is going to be a tough year as subjects became more intricate and thus, she really ought to work harder this year.
As the school slowly came into her view, she started worrying about her new class, as she would need to meet new people. Not that she hates her new classmates, but she preferred to be with her own group of friends, as she felt more comfortable with them.
Stepping into the school for the first time in the two months, she watched as some secondary one students stood alone while some were chatting animatedly with their primary school friends whom she presumed to be. Memories flashed through her mind as she recalled the times she used to be like them, with no friend and all alone…
Two years ago, she came to this school alone by herself. None of her classmates had chosen this school as one of their choices. She saw some of her schoolmates but she had never start a conversation with them due to the fact that they were from different classes. She waited at the foyer, not knowing where to go. She could only wait patiently for the teacher’s instruction. Soon, serene melody filled the place and some students started moving towards the parade square. She followed but felt lost, as she did not know where to go. As more students started to congregate at the parade square, the task to squeeze through the crowd became harder and she need to get to her destination that seemed to be at the other end of the parade square. She finally managed to reach her class and they were asked to settle down…
Unconsciously, she had walked through the long corridor connecting the three blocks, namely Block E, F, G, and reached their usual meeting spot. It was at the side of the parade square.
“Is my hair messy?” She heard her friend, Eunice, asking another of her friend, Angelina.
“No, it’s not.” Angelina reassured her.
Eunice is a badminton player who loves to crack jokes and it often makes everyone laugh despite the fact that it might not be funny at all. She has a soft spot towards teddy bear or soft toy and she simply adore bugs bunny. Anyone who knows her will know that.
Angelina, on the other hand, loves to read books. (since you guys don’t like her, I shall not elaborate)
She was snapped out of her thoughts when Eunice asked her a question. “Hey, is my hair messy?”
“It’s not.” She replied, with a ‘diao’ expression shown on her face.
Out of the blue, the familiar piece of melody filled the air.
“Is my hair messy?”
‘This year is going to be crap.’
